An Outreach for Youth and Young Adults.

In many towns and villages in Northern ireland, young people are falling away from the church. We don’t want that to be the case on the Ards Peninsula. Instead, we are inviting you and other young people you know to join a movement that is becoming more passionate about Jesus, that services their local church and blesses the community.

It is our mission to create a space where that generation can come and be encouraged and transformed by the gospel. Through events, small groups, projects, teams, and so much more, we want to create a movement that is becoming more passionate about Jesus, that serves their local church, and blesses the community.

Why is this needed?

By diving into some publications released by the education authority, as well as engaging with schools, youth groups and local clergy, we have discovered that youth and children in rural areas are experiencing isolation and have limited opportunities to connect with others outside of their immediate surroundings. Along with the lack of facilities in rural areas, these are just some of the many reasons why we believe Ards Connect is needed.

Ards Connect has then been created to address some of these issues and more. We want to invite you. . .

Connect

We invite you to join in our activities and meet other young people from the area

The Mission

Belong

We invite you and other young people you know to be part of something new and exciting which will respond to your needs

Engage with the Gospel

We invite you to learn about the goodness of God, explore and grow in faith

Engage with the Local Church

We invite you to engage with a local church family, build relationships and volunteer in your church

The Means

We aim to address your needs and the needs of other children and young people in 2 key ways. . .

Central Hub

By creating a central hub, we look to create a space where you and other children and young people can feel comfortable and welcome in an environment which is relevant, modern, and engaging. We will create worship events that appeal to young people where you can be engaged and inspired in an environment that is up to date, attractive, and interactive.

The Central Hub will also facilitate small group activities, workshops, and courses. We want to be able to offer facilities where guest speakers will have exactly what they need to deliver courses and workshops.

Outside Engagement

We want to bring some of these workshops to more rural venues which do not have the means to facilitate workshops and events for themselves.

With portable equipment and volunteers from local churches, we will be able to deliver local activities, Café Church environments, Training workshops, and mentor programmes.
